Oh man, this is so great and hilarious!  Oregon Trail and Dwight's valid complaints!  ... which are going to 1991. HEEE.  And Jim Having A Receptionist Thing (and Dwight maybe saving up for later the info, re: secret office relationships?), and then the joke-kissing and Todd Packer which explains so MUCH -- just fantastic.

Oh, man, it's SO nice to see a Karen this real and sympathetic and *herself* -- not prone to giggling, having little relationship things with Jim (the gas game!).  And MICHAEL with his WORDS -- necrophilia and monogrammed.  But seriously, thanks so much for showing Karen's perspective on things.

Author's Response: Hey, no problem kyra! I'm glad you like my portrayal of Karen. Even though I don't want her with Jim, I can't muster up any malice toward her and sometimes I think she gets a bum deal. There will be a bit more Karen POV in the next chapter, although I think It's going to be mainly Jim's POV.

*Oh*, oh my god, this is so heartbreaking and just perfect.  I love the back and forth of it, how it gives this sense of time, so much time and history that it doesn't even need to be in order.  I like all their stories about their past and seeing the good and bad sides of both of them through the other's eyes and then that beginning that's an ending and how they were both so *young* and how neither of them will ever totally get over this.  Love the structure, and the bittersweetness. 

(There's a really great short story by Kelly Link called "Louise's Ghost" that does kind of what you do here, where after everything bad has happened she goes back to the very beginning when everything was new and good and this killed me in the same way.) 

Finally caught up on BSG so I could read this!  I like Jim thriving in a post-apocalyptic spaceship, and Pam drawing people's houses was so great.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much! Pam and Kara are two of my favorite characters. They're so different, but in some ways they've had similar experiences. ANd I really do think Jim would do well in other circumstances. Thanks again!

Oh, man, this is just FANTASTIC.  The details, how she's doing okay, how she plays games even with just herself, the rhythm of it and the wonderful spare writing.  I love how she's not super-angsty, and she has all these life details that are her own entirely apart from any relationship drama, without ignoring that entirely.  And the google searches are just brilliant.  I hope you write more in the future!

Heeee, Dwight knowing (or thinking he knows) Pam and Karen's heights is so perfect.   And "has never been engaged to a guy in the warehouse (I don't think)," totally made me laugh.


Author's Response: :) I just kept picturing Dwight rambling off biographical information about Meredith to Michael in the Alliance, like he knew all this stuff about her I was waiting for him to say height and astrological sign. Glad you enjoyed it!

Oh, I really like this!  All the details are great: the soda routine with Ryan, Andy's various lunches, his ties, and then a Cornell reunion (of COURSE -- and the Treble guys, ha!) and TRL (I have a friend who lied about her age once to get in, heh!) and H&M (YAY) -- all really spot-on.
