Awwwww.  SO awesome. Yay for Pam making the first move, with the smile and friendly demeanor first thing in the morning.

I was totally going to look up Asparagus, BTW. LOL.

And I wanted to tell you, rereading the last chapter -- the bit about the scary movie music. I finally watched a classic slasher film I'd been wanting to see forever, and my husband fell asleep. So I could handle the scariest parts solo, only if I'd mute the scary music. So rereading that part of Squirrel and WD's convo tonight made me giggle.

Excellent update, Moxie! CAN'T WAIT to see what comes next!

Oh, MAN! The tension just keeps growing! The chat!sex is SO gonna get Jim in trouble. COME CLEAN, MAN! Eeeeek. But I know he won't. *sigh*

And where's Karen? Hmm...inquiring minds want to know.

Though I must say that Ryan's belief that everyone online are 'freaks and perverts' is one echoed by my husband. That made me giggle.

Jeez! You've crafted a delicious story here.  But the wondering is starting to kill me (in a good way, of course, hence the 'delicious' comment.)

Great job, Moxie. Can't wait for more.

Jim, Jim, Jim. *sigh* This story is so well done, you've got ME guessing. Does Pam know or not know? Does Vexin know and has she told Pam? What the heck is Jim gonna do for a photo?  (I keep picturing him using the fake-photo that comes when you buy a picture frame, LOL, but I could see him using a picture of one of his cousins or something.) And is Pam pushing for one because she wants to see how far Jim will take his lie?

Oh man. This story continues to be awesome, but it's starting to make me really nervous. The tension!

And how many of us looked up the words to the Adam Sandler song? I bet that link got a ton of hits from this chapter! (I looked!)

One small thing: I'm sure someone else has told you that your link to the Lisahoo images isn't a complete web address, so we can't link to it.

More, please!

I get so excited to see an update to this story...I'm practically giddy. -->dork<--

Great chapter -- Love that 'Squirrel' is prompting Pam to talk to Jim, but isn't he forgetting Karen's threats? Shouldn't he wait until the volatile Karen situation calms down before telling Pam to initiate more contact with him? Hmm. The next chapter should be very interesting.

I hope you're feeling better, Moxie!

Author's Response: too much whisky & spending time with the woman he loves can make a boy forget certain things.  Good of you to notice!  :-)

OMG, I did NOT see THAT coming. Wow. Interesting direction, one I haven't seen before, but one Karen could certainly pursue if bitter enough. Ouch.

There's a great reason to disclose your relationship to HR, that's for sure.

Awesome as always, Moxie. Hope you're on the mend!

The Miss Congeniality quote contest was hilarious. Makes me want to watch it again. And I loved the detail of Jim watching college basketball...because it seems like my husband has it on every TV in our house these days.

Can you tell me if there's any special meaning behind Jim's screen name? And I'm also starting to wonder if Vexin isn't someone we know (as in, someone who works at D-M.)

Excellent update. Can't wait for more!

OMG!  Eeeeeee! *flails*

I got all excited when I saw you updated. Now I'm on pins and needles waiting for more! Excellent fic. Ah, the tension!

Author's Response: Take a deep breath, lapdogdesign.  It's all going to be okay - eventually.   So glad you like the story - more to come soon.

I am really enjoing this, Moxie. It is so true that someone who knows me IRL would likely be completely surprised to see my IM or LJ conversations. Not that they're scandalous or anything, but its just that everyone's a little freer, more irreverent, more unfiltered via the semi-anonymity of the internet.

Methinks that the Love_stinks crew may be on to Mr. Wonderful, given his ungraceful/impolite exit from the chat room immediately after WD. We'll see...

More, please!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading and reviewing - I'm happy to know that you agree with my basic premise about the internet making us all alittle braver than perhaps we'd be in person.  And yes, Jim's going to have to be a lot more careful than he's been so far if he wants to keep the charade up......

Aww. *sigh* Periwinkle.

That ending was perfect, Moxie. And I loved Jim's gift and I loved how Pam asked her question without actually talking to Jim in person. Plus I was very happy to see Jim discussing the Karen situation with Toby. At least now someone in HR has been forewarned of the potential problem.

Excellent update, Moxie! Whenever I get the update notification in my email, I grin, and squee "Squirrel!" I get the oddest looks, I swear. :D

Oh man, what a great chapter. This part:

For the first time all night he looks at you, actually looks at you.  “You don’t get it.  I can’t… I can’t think right now.  I can’t talk.  I just… I have to see if she’s okay.”

rocked me to the core (just like it did Karen.) Because he's never felt that urgency with her, that panic, that extreme of any kind of emotion. And she knows it.

Ouch.

More, please! Adding to favorites.

Oh, wow. I sure wasn't expecting Roy to expect to get back together with Pam after THAT, but then again, he is Mr. Oblivious, so it shouldn't surprise me. Boy, I can't wait to see how he reacts to Pam's news! THAT will blindside him for sure.

I love the image of Jim sitting there, hands on the armrests, tensed and waiting to jump up if Pam needs him. *sigh*

Great chapter. Can't wait for more!

Hee. This was really fun to read, and hot to boot.

Favorite parts: Pam's new after-work wardrobe, The description of the painting of Michael and his reaction to it, Karen telling Jim he's really not a nice guy and Jim realizing she was right, and this gem:

"He was, frankly, a little rattled by the risk they were taking and an image flashed across his mind of him discussing the public indecency charges with a lawyer."

I can really see Jim thinking this. It made me giggle.

(Oh, and I also loved the fact that Jim was ahem, bigger than Roy. Well of course he is! Have you seen his hands? ;)

More, please!

Author's Response: Thanks!  I think Jim has been an ass, but is also a decent enough guy that he should realize at some point that he has been an ass.  I hope they write it that way.  I like the basic dilemma of what does a pretty risk-avese guy do when a girl he really digs wants risky public sex?  Thanks for all your kind words; it's nice to get such specific feedback.

Summary:

THINGS ARE HEATING UP!

Will Pam go through with the wedding after being reunited with her childhood crush? Stay tuned to find out!

Whee! I love all of your stories (though I'm secretly jonesing for more Jackson) but I just can't wait to see where you're going to be taking this one. Somehow I think Karen is going to get bitten in the ass, encouraging Pam to move into the building where her boytoy lives (and who it appears Pam has just met.)

Yeah, not liking Karen a bit in this AU. Sounds like a snooty, materialistic, cold, party girl.  What on earth did Jim see in her to propose to her? Maybe I should reread the previous chapters and see if you explain it.

More, please! :D

I really like this idea - that Pam would be honest and Karen would be decent and understanding, even while heartbroken. It feels way more realistic than stories where Karen is vilified or just plain mean. From what we've seen of her in canon, IMO, Karen would, if anything else, be reserved or try to hold in her anger/frustration until she was alone.

I don't think the story needs serious reworking at all. I like the idea that Jim expects a catfight and is confused by Pam and Karen's drama-free return to the office. I like the idea that Pam would come clean with Karen while acknowledging that Jim had moved on and she was too late. And I like that Karen (the only person who can see all sides of the situation) recognizes that Pam is mistaken.

Guh. This is a rambling comment, and its past my bedtime to boot. But I wanted to tell you how much I liked your story!

*slinks away*

Author's Response: Wow, thank you!  I really appreciate this review :) I'll try to get working on part 2!

Worth finishing? Absolutely. In fact I almost left your standard "OMG You can't end it THERE!!!" review. :)

I loved the descriptions of Pam's sketchbook, the smudges of charcoal that made up the Casino Night sketch. It makes me wish I could actually see them.

Let's just say I'm very interested to see where you go from here... Plus, the idea that you're to point of Pam going to Jim in the story, and we STILL have two chapters to come has me a little giddy.   :D

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! I'm glad the descriptions of her sketches were realistic... I am not an artist, so I was hoping that it came across from an artist's point of view. Expect more descriptions of the drawings to come. I'm working on the next (possibly final part, depending on how the muse is feeling), so hopefully it will be up soon! Thanks so much for taking the time to review!

Ouch.

I really think we need to see the conclusion of this, even in all its angst and pain. Karen deserves to speak her piece and we need to see the reactions of Jim and Pam to it, IMO.

Excellent chapter. It was great to see Jim's elation at the start of a new relationship, thinking he'd finally put his Pam obsession behind him. I can see him thinking this same thing in canon. Really nicely done.

This is really good! (Not surprising, as I enjoy all of your stories.)

I don't think I've read a story yet that comes out of Pam turning down the internship, with that being the impetus for her to leave Roy. I loved the plot device of the poem to open Pam's eyes and cause her to reexamine her life.

Can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thnaks so much.  Part 2 is up and I'm back to my smutty ways.  While I think the story probably exaggerates Pam's ability to change quickly, I do think the timing was right after Boys and Girls.

Summary:

Jim and Pam are good buddies. Jim helps her with her two problems: work and Roy. But what if she didn't have those problems? What would happen if they didn't have Dunder Mifflin in common?

I'm rambling, I know. I can't wait to see where Jim and Pam run into each other next. Without work between them, it'll be an interesting (and original) journey to see them come together.

I love A/Us too. They are so much fun. Some of them can really be way out there, and those are great, but I don't think I'm going to have Jim and Pam run off and try to be the next American Idol or something.
Thanks so much!

About your comment: Things are looking to be moving in the "Jim-loves-Pam-but-will-only-angst-about-it-for-a-while" direction.

I hope that's only a little while! :)

Update soon, please!

Author's Response:
Yes, I love the idea of writing a canon!A/U story. But then, does that make me predictable? Hmm...
Anyway, I won't pump up the angst too much, so don't worry. Jim strikes me as the kind of guy who is more than willing to explore the possibility of something more, but he might be willing to follow her lead on this...we'll see. ;)
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to review!
cheers.
