Hahah I knew someone's bathing suit was going to come off in that scuffle! Very funny. And Jim's drunken chin-face thing was great. Aw I would love to see Jim and Pam drunk together on the show! The angst is good - Pam needed some reality to force her to really own up to what is going between her and Jim in this story! I'm glad to see that JAM will prevail, though. Keep up the good work!

Hey, I've been reading fics on this site for a long time without ever registering, but this story forced me to register just so I could tell you how adorable Pam's myspace blog prank was. "My heart is all aflutter"....very funny! I can't wait to read the next chapter.

Oh, poor Jim! You gave me a little glimmer of hope when Pam saw him talking on the phone with Mark...like maybe she would just lie to Roy and go anyway. But that would be very un-Pam-like. Their conversation at the end was very wistful...lots of double-meaning...great job!

Author's Response: Don't feel too bad for her! After all, I would've preferred that her wine was poisoned or that crosstown bus took her out so this was my attempt at a kinder, gentler exit. Glad you caught the references to CN! Aaaannnnnddd hopefully there will be a parallel to that coming soon where Pam plays the role of the one who confesses her love and there is more kissing and all is right with the world. Thank you!

That's a really good question, FNB (heh).  This latest episode seemed to show a genuine connection between the two of them (I thought the "in well" exchange was freaking adorable - though I'd swear it was improvised).  So yeah, I think he really feels happy with Karen; I don't think he's sitting around wishing she were Pam all the time.  But I do think he has to make a conscious, concerted effort to ignore the fact that what he feels for Karen is nothing near what he feels for Pam.  YMMV, of course.

Nice story! The beginning with Pam alone in the rain was very poignant. I think it is very realistic that Jim and Pam would just kind of need time to become friends again before really talking about all their feelings.

And was that jelly bean remark a shout out to my story? Or am I being an egomaniac right now?

Author's Response: Oh, wow! I never noticed the whole jellybeans thing. I had read your story, but when I wrote this story I didn't have that in mind, but maybe your story seeped into my subconscious. By the way, your story was BRILLIANT. Loved it so much! :)
