Bio:
After being raised by feral dogs deep in the heart of Appalachia for my first 17 years, I rescued a group of imperiled socioanthopologists from certain doom at the hands of some moonshiners in an undisclosed mossy holler of my homeland. Silly with gratitude, they taught me to read and eventually, to make letters with a pencil. I'm continuing that learning process by writing fan fiction here.
As you can see, I'm still having trouble with run-on sentences and cliches. Yet I've come so far.

Oh, and I love music - especially jazz.

Oh man, your writing of Stanley rocks. How'd I miss this first chapter? I can hear every word as if Stanley is saying it. Nice job.

I'm interested to see what kind of thinking Jim does, and how he handles it with Karen.

Very very cute idea, and a just reward for Stanley.

I loved this line, and I could just hear Stanley saying it:

"It's Dwight," said Stanley, peering at his newspaper. "He probably saw Elvis, too."

Author's Response: Thanks! Stanley earned his pretzel.

Sorry about your insomnia, but sure I'm glad you wrote this.

My favorite paragraph (and there were several). I got such a visual from this:

She swallowed and her hand relaxed, releasing the wrinkled fabric and letting it fall over her knees again. It was all silence, and she picked up a few words that she wanted to say, but she'd save those. She wanted to see his face when she said them, and she wanted to hold him, and... "Come back, Jim."

Author's Response: Thanks. =) And, yes, the insomnia .. it is funny to go to bed when the sun is rising.

Very very cute, but touching as well.

(It reminded me a bit of that scene in Good Will Hunting when Robin Williams' character tells Matt Damon's character about how much he loved that his deceased wife farted in her sleep. I loved that scene. *honk sniff*)

I'd love to hear about Jim's idiosyncracies as well. Hint hint.

Author's Response: Hey, I hadn\'t thought of that, but it\'s a good parallel, jazzfan. :) Glad you liked it! I have some ideas about Jim, but nothing written. Let\'s see how much homework I can evade over the next week, maybe I\'ll have something. Thanks for the review! :)

Another "too cute for words" installment. My fav quirk was the socks - very believeable. Such a long way to those feet - no wonder they get cold. And good for Pam and her flexible toes.

I hope you write more of these from either perspective.

Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked that and thought it believable--I was wondering if everyone would think that was a bit much, but I did know a guy once who had, um, issues about his feet. :) We\'ll see what comes to me. Apparently I enjoy avoiding homework whenever possible. Thanks for reviewing jazzfan! :)

I really liked the way you went through Pam's thought processes on this one. Nice job.

Wow, I almost missed this (been out of town), I'm glad it was recommended over on the forum. There's so much to like about this story, but I can't mention everything so I'll pick three things.
1)Jim - makes something out of nothing. I loved all of her comments about people, but that was perfect.
2) Jim's reactions to Pam when he comes to her apartment and is so scared to try again. Wonderful description of Jim's emotions playing out in his body language. I could see him so clearly, and it was so utterly believeable. It wouldn't have been easy for him.
3) The conversation after Jim asks why she didn't call felt very real.

Nicely done.

Author's Response: Thank you, jazzfan. My apologies for responding to this so many...months... late. I liked that line about Jim in her notebook, too. That was the one that made me think of doing all of them, actually. I\'m glad you liked this. It\'s definitely my favorite thing I\'ve written here. :)

That, young lady, is not abstinence. Lovely and sweet and hot, and very in character. For some reason, this was my favorite line - probably because it sounded so believeable and it meant so much without having to explain:

Wait,’ Jim panted. ‘Wait a second,’ he leaned his forehead against hers, firmly grasping her hips to still them.
