I came here after working my way through the Office tag on AO3, and then lurking around for a few weeks until I decided I needed an account to keep track of the many lovely fics I found, and also to give the authors a little love.

I don't know exactly where to place this story. It's June - but Pam definitely isn't married and Jim hasn't said anything. So maybe June of Season 1? Just work w/me people. :)
1 This was such a fun read! I loved Dwight taking his job as lifeguard in the little pool so serious, and of course, every interaction between Jim and Pam was perfect.

They say there are 5 stages of grief - Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance. You'll see Pam go through them - with some future fluff every other chapter to keep you from pulling your hair out. There will be 10 chapters in all. :)
1 This was a great story. I really liked the back and forth between each chapter and of course, seeing them get together and witnessing how right they are for each other is always nice.

1 I really liked this. You know, I can totally imagine Jim like this, being an adorable and talkative drunk, saying a lot more than he would have if he were sober. And yet, I find myself feeling a little frustrated by Pam and her inability to realize those aren't the kind of things friends say to one another, even if that's a perfect representation of canon!Pam. I mean, I know Jim is drunk and he didn't come out and say he liked her as more than friends, and I do understand Pam's position, but still.

1 I'm not gonna lie, I really, really liked this. I love JAM and I will forever be happy they ended together, but the part of me that hurt alongside Jim before and after Casino Night is glad to see him getting a happy ending even without Pam.

1 This was such an interesting idea and the way you handled it was perfect. This was the first time I read a story where they met before Dunder Mifflin and I absolutely loved it. The little interaction between Jim and Pam was so cute and sweet and kind of dorky, which was exactly like them. I could totally imagine Jim apologizing nonstop and Pam just giggling about the whole thing. They're just so cute. I'm not gonna lie, it was a little disappointing to see Pam leaving with Roy in the end, but well. At least we know they're going to meet again soon.

It starts with the first time Jim and Pam are in the same room again, followed by their first real fight and then..you know...a few other firsts. :)
1 This was such an interesting take on this period. I love what the show writers did, of course I do, but It was so refreshing to see them actually communicating and getting together so quickly. This was a very good read.

1 Is it weird to admit I feel kind of sad by the way the relationship developed here? I know what their relationship is like in canon and I love it, but this beginning made me feel so bad for Dwight (even though if were in Jim's shoes I would have taken my distance as well). That being said, I really enjoyed this glimpse of how they became such a great sales team and their interaction as it developed. That bit about Jim going to the farm was just perfect.

1 This was a simple story, yet it shows a perfect glimpse of these three characters and their dynamics, and how they both know Roy isn't the one for her, yet she refuces to truly see it, to Jim's (and our) immense frustration. I really liked it.

Pam wishes she had loved Jim all her life, and Jim rises to the challenge. Pure fluff.1 This was such a sweet and fun idea, and definitely something I could imagine Jim doing. It was so much fun to find alongside Pam what surprises he had planned for her birthday, and I loved the fact he got their families involved in all this. I know Jim is far from being perfect, but I've always thought Pam was lucky to have found one of the good ones.
Also, the way the story came full circle with that last bit was just perfect. I loved it!

Great Depression AU.1 Wow. I think this fic it's like the definition of bittersweet and I love it for it! From the time period this is set in to the place you gave everybody in the story, and let's not even talk about chapter fifteen, which I loved almost as much as it hurt me. Poor Jim. And poor Pam as well. I kind of wish we had seen more of their happy ending, but I can't deny how great that recap was. I think it goes without saying that the plot and writing were flawless, but so was the characterization. They really felt like Jim and Pam, and it was so bittersweet to see them fall in love and then have to deal with the consequences.
I have to admit I usually don't enjoy fics that involve cheating from any of my fav characters, but I think I can understand and be more sympathetic when it happens in a period piece like this one, and especially with the little bit of background you gave us on Pam and Roy's family. Speaking of which, I really liked what you did with Roy here, the the characterization and all his interactions with both Jim and Pam (that last talk with Jim was so raw and beautiful written). There's no doubt in my head he and Pam love each other very much, but it felt to me more like a familial love rather than actually being in love, and I really appreciated that.
I feel like this comment it's a bit of a mess, so sorry about that. In short, I loved this fic, and want to thank you for writing and for sharing it with us once again!
Christmas time at Dunder-Mifflin means two things. Romance, and celebrating African-American heritage. A script-based take on the Season 4 Christmas episode.1 This was such a fun read! Almost as good as watching an episode. I enjoyed reading about Jim and Pam being sweet together and actually working together to help Dwight for a change, and of course Michael being Michael. I loved the little Ryan cameo, and of course, every detail of the party planning and the actual party. The ending was just perfect.

Imagine Jim’s confession on Casino Night never happened and Pam actually made it down the aisle on June 10th . . . only to say “I don’t”.1 The premise for this story was great and the execution as well. I would say they jumped into the relationship too quickly, but this is Jim and Pam, so they still took too long to get together. BTW, I love that Jim still went on his trip, even if he didn't have a great time.

1 Wow. This was definitely not the kind of JAM fic I expected to read, but I loved every word of it. It was just so funny and wild and fresh, and Jim's POV only made the whole night even more perfect and hilarious. Something I have to commend you on is how even though the world the characters are in is totally different from canon, there was not a single moment or dialogue that felt out of character. The only character I could say felt different was Pam, but I can actually imagine the Pam of later seasons in here. I wish I could list some of my favorite moments, but they're too many to count, so yeah. I loved the whole thing!

I think my favorite parts were 4 and 5, but only because I love the fluff and sweetness of them being together- but part 1 was definitely captured that bittersweet feeling that came with a lot of the Jim/Pam interactions in the first seasons.

A Will They or Won't They AU with Pam and Jim as next door neighbors.
“Pam, come on. Don’t do that.” The sound of his bare feet on the wooden floor following behind kept me in motion through the dining room, looking under chairs for my sandals. I summoned everything I had in me not to look at him in his currently half-dressed state.
“Don’t do what? Jim, I’m fine. Really.”
I’m just in love with you and you only want to be friendly neighbors. And, also, since I’m being honest with myself, my body is not loving the unsated high of being as aroused as I just felt with your hands on me like that.
1 Ahhhh! I don't even know where to start. I just loved this fic, okay? I loved loved loved it! Of course, no matter what universe they are in, Jim and Pam are going to take the long road because of course they are. It doesn't matter how perfect they are for each other or that everyone around them can see it, they always have to torture themselves and each other before getting together.
This was just the perfect combination of Jim and Pam being Jim and Pam, many great references to canon and a bunch of little cameos (Dwight and Angela! Jan! Andy and Katy!) I absolutely love that you gave Pam a healthy and fun group of friends, and the fact you added Karen in there was just the cherry on top because I like Karen and have no doubt they could have been good friends if canon hadn't happened. I wish we had gotten to know a bit more about Jim's life, but I understand this was from Pam's POV and I did love learning a bit about hers, so it was all good.

When it is revealed that Pam missed out on the joys of her senior prom, Jim and Michael bring the employees of Dunder Mifflin together for a night that everyone will remember.
Not at *all* inspired by Savage Garden.
1 Jim organizing a prom party just for Pam it's exactly the kind of big gesture he would have even in that period, and Michael and the rest of the Dunder Mifflin folks just going along with it was perfect. Speaking of which, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed all the Angela bits. And where do I even start with Jim and Pam? I loved every bit of interaction between them, and the way you showed us how well they can read each other even when they weren't interacting.
Something I really loved here was that even though Pam was angry and hurt by the way Jim left, you also have her acknowledging more than just in passing how much pain Jim was in back then, and hurting along with him as she remembers. I'm pretty new to reading JAM fics, but this was the first time I stumble across something like that and it felt so right and prefect.
I have to admit I wasn't fully comfortable reading about the cheating bit. I know Jim and Pam's situation is very complex and it can even be argued that Jim cheated on Karen right from the beginning, but still. It's just not the kind of behavior I enjoy from the characters I like, and what happened after made me felt so much worse for Karen. That being said, it is testament to your skills as a writer and story teller that I not only continued reading, but I greatly enjoyed the fic overall. It was a great story, and the way things happened served a purpose and I can appreciate that.

I could totally see having to be stuck at home with Roy for so long as the catharsis to make Pam break up with him, and the way she and Jim just became best friends without even meeting in person was just so cute and so them.
