OK - wow again. I've been able to absorb this story more and this time I hope I can be a bit more articulate. I want to say thank you for taking such an ugly and horrible scenario and presenting it in such a touching way. I see a lot of your readers have the same issues that I do, that they don't want to be 'enjoying' this story because of the subject matter. You've created a compelling story line that draws you in and sucks you into the pain that Pam is feeling. Wow - I totally love this. I love the interactions with Roy and Karen - so well done. I also love the style, yeah, it's fluff and a tiny bit of angst, but the phrasing you used is such a great fit for this. Bravo!

Summary: Yet another story inspired by a song by Ingrid Michaelson called Breakable. I really wanted to tell a story about people being just that -- breakable, and ultimately how grace helps keep us from falling apart. So yeah -- a nice fluffy holiday piece. ;-)

Author's Response: I'll tell you what, there is nothing better than a detailed review like this....you are gonna spoil me with this! lol. Thank you so, so much. I have to tell you my favorite dynamic to write about was that of Frank and Roy. Even though they really never had much dialogue together until the end...I was trying to draw a parallel with what kinds of people they were and how they handled situations (like stressful ones) in much the same way. Thank you, so so so much for such a great detailed review. I love that!

Thanks so much for this little work of art - it was amazing through and through... I can't express enough how much I love your characterization of Jim and Frank and I loved Roy's explanation for why he belonged there... it made me so .. just wow... yeah, no words...
My fav bits from your final chapter? Frank... he was awesome...
"That's my bacon...I said go eat something, I didn't say to eat my bacon." Loved that he was ornery
"Really? Come on...you haven't called me sir...ever. Why start now? Respect for the dead?" I smorted at this... What an amazing mix of nervousness and fear and grief and reality and laughter...
Finally... His eyes found mine. "She paints more now."
What an amazing example of 'man-talk'... loved it...
And my absolute favorite bit???? The beauty of this line:
And without fanfare...and just a little drama, I moved into the next phase of mine.
