I'm switching to Yes on beta-reader, because I should have more time now that I've finished my own recent story and I'll probably take a break from writing. I don't know how many requests will come from that, so I reserve the right to change back to No if I get overwhelmed. :) But I am an unrepentant grammar Nazi, and have edited a LOT in the past, so I'm totally up for a little beta.
Inspired by the finale and the seasons that preceeded it. Enough said.

9 I really like how Jim explained the interview process and speculated that no one from Scranton will get the job. And the urgency of finding Jan's replacement so quickly that there's not enough time to go for an outside hire even takes care of the speculation on why they didn't go that route in the first place, given the less-than-fabulous applicant pool available from within the ranks.
So, excellent job. I'm going on to chapter 2 now, and I hope you keep updating. :)

10 Oh, it's perfect. I could even see it as a oneshot, but considering how well it's written, I'm really glad to hear there'll be more. I love Jim picking Pam up at the coat rack! They're very in character, and this is exactly what I hope the writers will be able to do on the show: keep them funny and natural and just...themselves, only together.

This is perfection:
This is our last minute apart. This is the last first date I’m ever going to ask for. I was really rooting for Jim to get back to Scranton as fast as possible in this story. I was thinking, "Plenty of people go 90, Jim. Ninety's not that fast..." That has to mean something. ;)
I don’t get to kiss you again until our second date, which is three weeks after our first date, which is a year and a half after our other first date.
So much squee! I love it. Sigh.
The second-person writing made me wonder a few times who was talking, but other than that I thought it was really sweet. Just a tiny little glimpse without being overt--or even kind of creepy, like it could be with Toby...he has such a strange demeanor around Pam sometimes, because of the crush. It almost...squicks me out a little. So I really liked this fic because it's so short and sweet and simple. :)
It had taken them three years to get to this place. Three whole years. They'd been dragged through so many unnecessary head, and heart, aches in that time. But they didn't matter anymore. Because the time was here. They had made it through.
I like how you have Pam wondering what happened to Karen, because as much as I wanted Jim to come back to Scranton and not take the job, when I saw him driving in the car alone, I said to the TV, "Oh my gosh! Where's Karen??" Hee. Poor, stranded Karen. Takin' the bus home. ;)

Ohhhh, I hope you update soon. I can tell this is going to be good. You present a really daunting conflict for Jim--this is a relationship with Karen that we never saw on the show. It seems much deeper and he easily acknowledges the things he loves about her. And the ring! Of course I want Jim with Pam, but I like that you're making it a challenge.

I always figured Jim would be with the antithesis of Pam (like her opposite in many ways).
