I'm so behind on reviews but wanted to tell you that I really liked this, it was very realistic, and it pains me to think that she and Jim came so close to getting to know each other and she came so close to blowing off Roy right at the beginning. Ouch! Really nice job.
She didn't know what hurt worse; that Roy's family hated her, or that he didn't.
Nice idea! I like how you've followed Pam as she goes through the hardest thing she's ever had to do. Breaking up with the family of an ex can be so painful and you capture that here. (One minor thing, it's "altar", not "alter".)

And the whole description about how he can't sleep without her. Lovely!

Okay, so how can we categorize it? Fleam? Stuff? Yikes, those are bad. Let's just say I needed to purge myself of this silly scene that had been following me around for far too long. BTW, in all the figure drawing classes I've taken, we never had a single model that remotely approached Jim's appeal...and certainly no 'vindications' either, so this really is a fantasy. But, I had a feeling I wasn't the only one who might enjoy it!

9 This is such a realistic back story. And you've done a good job of making Roy sensitive enough so that Pam would love him but with enough of the big dumb jock persona so that we groan and wonder why she's attracted to him! There are a couple of present verb tenses amongst all the past tenses. Nice job!
