Yeah, yeah, so back to this piece. I love the whole background tone - the storm, him seeing her only in reflections, the parallels to Conrad. And this: Is she getting sneaky, or is he no longer attuned to her? He doesn't want the answer to either of those questions to be yes. And this: He feels a small but sharp pain where his heart used to be. And of course, their gentle coming together and Jim's relief and joy at the end. Awesome.

Man, those hussies are just insatiable. At least when you climb the JK/JH tree, you get the prize of those cheeks at the top! This is, as always, very sweet, and a bit cheeky (DOH!). I am still a bit disappointed you didn't go with any of these titles but I'm still incredibly honored to have you use one of my suggestions!

"Pam Beesly and the Great Cheek-o-Meter Experiment" or "Close Encounters of a Cheeky Kind".....

Thanks for taking my completely disparate and not especially sexy prompts and turning them into such a fun story. Leave it to Dwight to come up with a way to calculate the Pam factor! Yay for sweet potato fries. And the missing #7 in an ice cube - but of course! Well done!

Colette, if lovin' show tunes is tragically uncool, then I don't want to be hip! Seriously, this story is like a lullaby with its lilting, soothing tones. Forget Jim and Pam for a moment, you write marriage so wonderfully. Funny, tender, sweet - you cover all the bases. And the best use of show tune lyrics in a fic ever! Awesome.

Author's Response: Eh, hip ain't what it's cracked up to be. Best use of show tune lyrics? Maybe the only use of them? In any case, once these two misguided kids finally learn the concept of communication, I have no doubt that a funny, tender, sweet relationship will ensue (not to mention weddings and, god help me, babies.) And, why, pls tell me, is that by nature antithetical to a comedy show?  Aaaarrrgggh. Thanks, as ever for your prodding before the fact and great review after it. And for allowing me this very schmaltzy moment.

Let's get down to it! I thought this was brilliant before and then you tweaked it again and made it perfect. First of all, Target and Singin' in the Rain, BAM! Perfect. Jim engaged in domestic chores. Awesome. "My Pam", I think I just got goosebumps. The talk about shabby, spontaneous amputation, moms kicking his ass, and Roy just not getting it. You always know just what to say!

And the best part???? Three more chapters!!! What more could a gal want? *hugs* to you hugs!
