Wonderful. You completely captured the emotions that we only got hints of across Pam's face. It really showed her journey of feelings until the end, where she wasn't just lying when she said she loved it.
Awww, I love how you ended each chapter with a dollop of Jam fluff. This was an excellent Thanksgiving! I can absolutely see Michael changing his mind and also getting too sad about Holly to go through with anything. All the ensemble voices were spot on, too.

Oh yay! I just read through all your comments and I'm pleased to know I wasn't the only one in tears. I think it held up even better after knowing who was actually at the table. I was able to notice this:
She tilts her head in concentration. It is a familiar gesture, and his heart floods with contentment that warms away the winter chill. As though sensing the change in temperature, she lifts her head and sees him there. She smiles, and it is his smile.

That was really lovely. I've encountered some Pam/Karen fic before but this was the first time it really felt in character for both of them. And I liked the Casino Night parallels.

BWAHAHAHahahahahaaaaa! I love that you switched to Jim's letter for the ending. We don't need the gory details of the labor and delivery and we don't need real names. Hell, I still call my daughter Bundle more often than her name and she's five months old! Anyway, this just makes me look forward to the new season. Not that I'm wishing away the summer. But yeah, it'll be nice to see how the show handles it all. Yay show!

You know, I don't think I've read any other fic takes on Jim's side of the situation. This really seemed exactly like his reaction. Excited and flustered and overthinking things and elated and sweet and still snarky and amazed. They really have come a long way. Baby.
Author's Response: I'm very pleased that you got that much out of this! I do think that Jim is feeling all of that. It really is amazing to think that the guy pining away for the receptionist behind that big, tall desk (and that big, tall warehouse worker) now has everything he's ever dreamed off. That's the kind of thing that can overwhelm you when you stop to think about it. Thank you, as always, for telling me it was OK to publish this. :)

Wow. This was even more poignant on the second read-through. Still, the "something old" being that note tucked into her garter is what got me yet again. And then I had to hold back the tears. How many hours left?

Oh right! This story! I totally remember this opening. I still love it. I can absolutely picture the whole thing, Pam freezing, the glee on Kelly's face, Toby anticipating paperwork, Michael's horror in a rare moment of self-awareness. HEE!

Pam wondered wildly when her brain had developed a mind of its own.
I love this line! It's so...Douglas Adams. This was a great peek into Pam's psyche. I feel like so many of the fics from this time were from Jim's POV; it's really nice to see Pam going through the turmoil. It's also completely believable. I can absolutely buy that the series could have played out like this instead.
Yay, I liked that line, too. It almost went away with revisions, but I worked until I found a way to make it work.

Another perfect line, that. Oh wow, even knowing your intentions to invert the Casino Night speech it was just...so powerful. I loved it. I loved the play on "he loves me, he loves me not" throughout Pam's thoughts. I loved the vividness of Jim's emotions playing across his face. I loved Pam's slow realization that it would be worse if Jim didn't love her than if he did. So fun to revisit this AU when "our" JAM are happily expecting.
I just love the visual of Jim in the dark using his ears to guide him. So vivid. (Which is ironic, considering he's not actually seeing his way down the hall...)
