My god this one is amazing. Money is one of my all-time favorite episodes because it hits on so many insecurities with this gang in such a raw way. We got to see Dwight and Michael unfold, but that “kiss about Italian food” had so much going on that we didn’t get. Brilliant, especially the early portrayal of Pam’s history. I’ve read this three times and every time it Hurts when Roy comes to her dorm and she starts crying, telling him he has to wear something because she doesn’t know who he’s been with. It’s such a likely but so telling part of their story. Really wonderful.

I’m a big Karen-fan, just not with Jim. I have a lot of head canon that Pam and Karen eventually become friends. So I kind of squirmed when you had Karen elevating herself above Pam and portraying Pam as just a plain receptionist. But it was actually realistic and so in-character. Of course she needs to give herself a pep talk after what she walked in on!! Good call on that angle, but really just great work on where you take Karen in this chapter.
