So happy to see an update and that we're getting more!  I loved the hyperbole conversation and the little details like Pam spilling her drink on the bar just make this so real and sweet.

Author's Response: Thanks so much Sweetpea.  Poor Pam.  She's had a rough day.  But I think she's going to learn to relax soon. :) Stay tuned...

Author's Response: thanks for your feedback! i'm so happy that you enjoyed.  and i pretty much always want to put colette in charge of words... :)

Author's Response: Seriously, it's kind of pathetic, but having my feet massaged or having my hair washed are both such exquisitely erotic experiences for me, so I figured I'd include one of them here.  It fit better with the story and we already have plenty of great shower smut fics.  Thanks for reading, you!

You know, I can remember a very distinct moment in my life where I felt just exactly like this, where instead of trying to wrap everything up tight, I decided to just let go and let someone share the reins (no G) and go along for the wonderful ride without thinking too much about where we were heading.  I LOVE to think that this is how Pam feels right now.  The part where reassuring him satisfies something organic in her...yeah.  That's so right.  Very sweet and very insightful look into Pam's blissful mind.

Author's Response: reins, reigns, rains, rainns, I mean.  come on.  for god's sack, shut your fried baloney hole.

Oh my God, TLK!  Phyllis!!  I love this so much and Michael's suggestion to try Weight Watchers is just perfection.  Great title, too.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Sweetpea!  You're always so supportive; I really appreciate that! :)

I think Michael would hear 'diet' and go right to 'fat older woman needs to lose weight.'  Not that Marjorie is fat, but that would be Michael's take on it.  He was the one who said even the hot ones aren't all that skinny, indicating Pam...

I was glad to come up with this title, too.  Titles can be so difficult, and I almost always don't think much about them until it's time to post, and then I'm under pressure.  That's why they aren't always great. ;)

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! :)

No, this story is love.  You really have a distinct style and voice shootingstars and I love it.  I don't know how to describe it, but the phone number is a good example of how you come at a feeling or a scenario from a completely different angle that makes me go "Oh?" and then I read that passage over again and I have to stop and really savor that because, of course, she would have looked his number up and then I go "Ohhhhh..." because of course, I understand what all of that would mean.  Really great job and such a nice mood and feeling throughout.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much. I\'ve been down with stomach flu these past few days and reviews like this really cheer me up. Thank you for such lovely comments :)

Is it wrong that I'm focusing on "heavy and thick"?  I don't care, I just don't wanna be right, then.  Seriously, sometimes it's only a word or two that can change the feeling in a story for me and "mooring" did that. Great image.

Really nice job, Catie, and absolutely Pam feels grateful.  I think they both do, but she knows about indifference and you expressed that in a really lovely way.

Author's Response: Sweetpea, I have to say getting a review from you is comparable to JK showing up at my office and begging me to do very naughty things to him. Well, I guess in the vein of disclosure I should be honest and tell you that I just lied to you, but nonetheless, getting a review from you, an author I seriously admire for humor (seriously, you almost killed me yesterday) as well as heart and style and imagery, is just plain awesome. \r\n\r\nRE: the use of the word \"mooring\"...One of my favorite books of all time is Wuthering Heights, and ever since the first time I read it, the moors and Heathcliff and Catherine and their ridiculous love have always kind of stood out to me. Earth should throw a Dwight Day.

Toby's entire TH - inspired!

Valentine's Day for rocks and trees?  Oh, Kelly!

Michael's whole TH is hysterical.

I need that van!

Jim's TH is perfect, classic, ironic Jim.

Love this one!

Thanks for pointing out your favorites, Sweetpea!  This one honestly may not have been posted if Swedge hadn't come in to co-author, or it wouldn't have been very good.  I was feeling uninspired, and the new ideas and back-and-forth made it fun again.

I have to say that Meredith's is probably my favorite; there's very little possibility of going too far with Meredith, from what they've shown us, and I love the dark twist there.

Before I go on...first chapter - so sweet!  I'm so glad you posted these all at once!

Author's Response:

Thanks, Sweetpea!  I actually thought about just making it one chapter, with just the little headings in between people, but it turned out each drabble needed just a teeny bit of time to resonate, and hitting 'next' would give them that time. ;)  But they were all ready, so I saw no need to drag it out.  It's such a nice, quick read this way.  Easy, like Phyllis. ;)

Author's Response: Hah!  One rendition of this had Creed leering.  I took one step back from that.  But you never do know what Creed will do.  I got a kick out of "For now" after Dwight says Señora.  Creed is so much fun to write. :)  (I love his crazy lines on the show.)

Reading break!  I LOVE this one!  I love Angela's random crying jags and how her accounting boys are trying to look out for her.  Sort of.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Sweetpea.  I could see uptight, judgmental Angela having a lot of trouble with her emotions when these crazy pregnancy hormones are in play.  And you know the guys are just trying to get through the day without the situation going critical.

A few of these chapters are people being only 'sort of' nice.  Angela hasn't been that nice to anyone, and yet these are inherently good people.  They can't help but try to be nice, particularly to a woman hugely pregnant with the big melon-headed baby. ;)

Reviewer: Sweetpea Signed
Date: April 29, 2008 Title: Chapter 13: End: Michael

Such a clever way to do this, TLK!  I loved all of them, but you really have Creed and all three accountants down so perfectly.  And now I've broken my final fanfic-at-work rule:  leaving reviews.  See what you've done?

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, Sweetpea.  I just knew I couldn't do this Word Challenge unless I could keep it simple, stupid. (Great advice -- hurts Dwight's feelings every time.)  So it had to be drabbles!  We were 'allowed' to skip up to 4 words, but I only skipped one -- Rescue.  I did two different drabbles for that, but neither one was right.

Anyway, it was an interesting process, although I have to say I was glad when it was over. I don't know how people do NaNo.  Not me, babe. ;)

Sorry to make you break your rules.  What's next, stepping on cracks? ;)

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, Sweetpea!  I really appreciate it! :)

Just reading the chapter title made my heart stop.  This song sends me straight back to my childhood.  It's so haunting and so beautiful - just like this story.  This review isn't going to do your words any justice.  I'll just say that Jim's longing for Pam is so real.  I'm in love with his devotion here - you framed that so beutifully.  And thank you for adding the clip of a very young Glen Campbell - it really added to the melancholy mood of the story.  Really well done.

Author's Response: Hey Sweetpea, thanks so much for this (and for the rec and the typo tip).  I reckon not everyone here will appreciate Glen Campbell or the song, but I'm glad that some do.  My dad was more of a Kris Kristofferson man, but I do remember the song (and "Rhinestone Cowboy"-remember that one?) a little from my youth as well.

I've read this about 5 times.  It's so weird, whenever I read one of your stories, I click on the chapter, thinking, 'I know this is going to be good, I can't wait to see where she's taking me'.  Then, I start to read, and even though I'm expecting you to kick my ass, you always manage some kind of sneak attack, like Jim on the phone, talking about his dinner and TV-watching and how he doesn't know what to do next without her there, and I'm on the mat, knocked out again.  Just wonderful.
