They just needed...something, right? One or the other of them just needed to say something! Aw, S2, back when things hurt so much but so sweetly. Drunk Jim, confused Pam, Roy being his usual insensitive self (not evil, just not particularly attentive)...you capture that angst so perfectly, and resolve in a way that could have happened. Brava!

How on earth did I miss this? So sweet, so sad. Seriously, is there a petition to Bring Back Holly? I'd sign, and I'd attach this story as a reason why- because this relationship was fun, and funny, and humanized Michael in a way that was healthy and joyful. You capture something lovely, here.

Aww, thanks so much! Yes, Holly was "the best thing to happen to this office since World War II". LOL. No, seriously, Holly and the Holly/Michael relationship was my favorite thing about this show for the past 3 seasons. Holly really needs to come back.

I always like stories that explore what made Pam call it off (one of the few unsolved mysteries that I actually care about!).  I love your suggestion that she learned to be selfless and, ultimately, unfulfilled, from her mother. That's shockingly right, somehow. Nice work.

I love how you balance how simple it is (walking, talking, holding hands) with the utter enormity of what is actually going on. Beautiful, as always.

This is simply breath-taking. The parallels with the (wonderful, wonderful) movie are subtly drawn out and deftly managed, and all of the details feel absolutely true to life. He tried to love her enough to let her go, as we now know, but Roy was no Victor Lazlo and jet skis aren't the Resistance, and this time we'll get our happy ending. Thank you for letting me "get caught up in someone else's story". It was a delight.

It is easier to enjoy the angst now that we know that there's a happy ending. This is great work. Your imagery is particularly good.

So vivid and sad. My mother went through something like this, miscarrying after not being initially thrilled about the pregnancy, and from what she has said I think you capture that guilt and sorrow perfectly. I am warning a few pregnant fic-readers away from this story, which I hope you take as the compliment that it is meant to be- this is too real, too true.
