Pam is depressed until an unexpected surprise

It is Valentine's Day and Michael is throwing a party. Pam Goes to the party to blow off some steam and have fun. Pam gets a little drunk and gets the guts to do something she has been wanting to say for a long time.

Minutes after Casino Night, Jim and Pam deal with the aftermath and living away from each other. After Jim gets settled in Stamford, and Pam is adjusting to life without Jim in Scranton and with her fiancé Roy, Pam and Jim end up meeting back together at a Dunder Mifflin convention with their bosses. Lots of Love and heartache.

Like many high school sweethearts, Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly were sure nothing could ever break them up. And, like many high school sweethearts, life after graduation proved too much for their relationship to bear and they ended up going their separate ways. When their paths cross again 10 years later, old feelings are stirred up, but will Pam and Jim have a second chance at first love?

It’s not as if she’s never seen his desk without him sitting there, because of course she has. He’s stayed home sick, made occasional—if unexciting—use of his vacation days, gone on sales calls — she knows what the office looks like when the shape of him is missing, when she glances up and there’s an absence where the slope of his shoulders is supposed to be.

As she settles in that first day of his absence, hangs her coat and takes her seat, Pam lets herself miss him as a coworker and as a best friend and that’s it. Work will be work, with or without Jim Halpert.

But that’s a lie, because of course it is.
