Meeting in an unusual place in life, a broken Jim and Pam try their best to put the pieces of their lives back together while not falling apart and back down the hole that they're trying to help one another out of.

Based on the song "How Not To" by Dan + Shay, because do I *ever* write something that *isn't* based on a song? 

Loosely set between S03E11, "Back from vacation" and S03E12, "Traveling Salesmen".

It's that magical Friday again, but Michael is too busy trying to improve his morale with the warehouse guys. And he is not afraid of bringing the big guns. After all, what could go wrong?

One task after another, one empty thought followed by the next, just like yesterday, just like tomorrow.

What if Pam had found her voice a little bit earlier?

Set during Season 3, at the end of "The Merger" 

There sits that bag of chips, on the passenger seat, to remind her of him, of his skin, and of the things that need to be fixed in her life.

What if Pam reacted much sooner than Casino Night? 

Set after S02 E06, The Fight. 

An office party is not an excuse to get really drunk, or confront someone, or have a cathartic experience of any kind.

Also, Pam won't tell Jim what her favorite Christmas song is.

Jim listens to Pam ask the kids to put on their shoes, remind them to get their folders from the homework basket, inquire if they remembered to put a snack in their backpacks. Since October 2007 (before that, if he’s really honest with himself) Halloween has never been ‘just another day’ with Pam, but here she is in 2018 with no costume, no theme, and no expectations of him. He’s left feeling unsettled and...more than a little disappointed. 

What will Pam and Jim take to remember the other when Jim goes to Stamford? And who will influence their separation along the way? And why am I feeling the need for some angsty-ness?
